If you are not aware of the wonderful work done by CRY please visit their excellent website www.c-r-y.org.uk.
Every week in the UK at least 12 assumingly fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions. CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) is a national charity saving young lives and supporting those affected. The charity aims to reduce the frequency of young, sudden cardiac death by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to help protect and promote the cardiac health in our young. Many of us will know of people who have a Heart condition. One of our fellow FA Community Clubs in Hertfordshire had two players who both lost their lives early to an undiagnosed heart condition. Likewise at a recent screening event in Hertfordshire four individuals were identified needing additional investigations. It is for this reason that we are supporting a Screening Day at Samuel Ryder Academy on Sunday 20th October. If you would like further details please email Brian Gibson firstname.lastname@example.org.
