Steve Mann - 'Solo' Marathon

Steve Mann - 'Solo' Marathon

On February 7th U18 South and U18 EJA coach Steve Mann will be running a ‘solo’ Marathon in order to raise funds for St Albans City Youth Community FC.

He intends run the 26.2 miles from St Albans Abbey Station along the Alban Way, through WGC along the Cole Green Way to Hertford and back again!

In the New Year Steve, who is also an active Referee and Club Welfare Officer at St Albans City FC will begin his new role as Commercial Manager at City Youth. A keen runner since age 15 he has still yet to run a Marathon as he approaches his 50th birthday.

When asked why? Steve  responded “ I felt it was a great way to show my commitment to the Club and the 84 teams and over 900 boys , girls and young adults we serve and also to my new role with the club by combining the challenge I set myself ( to run a Marathon at 50) and raise funds for an amazing cause at the same time. Any support, no matter how small will be hugely appreciated and help me through the cold and dark training runs.”
