St Albans City Youth FC Thanks St Albans District Council for new Grant Funding
St Albans City Youth FC are delighted to announce that St Albans District Council have awarded the City Youth Inclusive Section a Grant under the Community Revenue Funding Scheme 20121
The Inclusive Section at City Youth is one of two key providers of Inclusive Football in St Albans and the surrounding district and provides children and young persons with disabilities opportunities to play football, learn new skills, combat social exclusion and develop both their physical and mental well-being, according to the ethos ‘Football for All’.
The £3,900 Grant will be used to drive improvements in and fund the proposed expansion of the City Youth Inclusive Section. The Club have recently appointed a hugely experienced Inclusive Section Co-ordinator, Tracy Light, whose remit is to both improve and expand our Inclusive Section offering providing an increased number of young persons with disabilities the opportunity to become more active and involved through sport. Opportunities the Club feels should be open to all. In addition to the fun and enjoyment Inclusive football brings our members, City Youth has an incredible and multi award winning track record in delivering multiple Projects to persons with disabilities including, Coach Education, Work placements, Work experience, Junior Sports Leaders courses, holiday work and apprenticeships.
ISCO, Tracy Light commented, “On behalf of all the current and future players in the City Youth Inclusive Section I would like to express our sincere thanks to St Albans District Council for providing us with a Grant that will enable us to grow the section and provide more opportunities for young people with disabilities from across St Albans to get involved with football and to take Inclusive sport in our wonderful community to the next level.”
