St Albans City Youth Disability Section had an away trip to Folkestone in the semi final of the Rymans Cup.
It was a very cold day but the game was played with Respect and the right spirit. Folkestone had more experience of playing 11v11 matches at this level and it showed as they took an early 3-0 lead with very similar avoidable goals. They also scored a cracker of goal just before half time.
This however spurred St Albans on with a much better second half performance which saw an excellent run and cross by Matt Dodds skilfully lifted into the net by the infamous Tom Ward (Another goal that will be talked about for a long time!) . The final score was 6-1 to Folkestone but everyone had a great time.
Sam Goldney had an excellent game in defence. The lads from St Albans Deaf did very well.
Next season City Youth Disability plan more friendly 11v11 matches as they try to keep improving to compete at this higher level. Well done to everyone involved.
