City Youth thanks Herts FA for Grant Funding to start new Women’s Session
St Albans City Youth FC would like to thank the Hertfordshire FA for the receipt of a generous Grant to help support the delivery of a new weekly female only session that will begin in September 2022.
The funding City Youth has received formed part of the FA’s strategy to leverage from Women’s Euros this summer, which it sees as the perfect time to get more women and girls involved in the game. The aim is to help clubs and organisations engage more women and girls in football as the spotlight falls on Europe’s best players competing in England this summer.
The recreational session will be open to all Women aged 18+. As a club we hope to engage with women looking to return to the game, to offer an opportunity to those who have completed their youth football to stay involved with the game before transitioning to senior football or simply to anyone who has not had the opportunity to play before to take up the game in a relaxed but structured environment.
Football Development Manager, Charlie Boswell commented, “The Club would like to thank Herts FA for providing us with the resources to deliver this new female only session which we hope will help to increase female participation in football from our community and offer more opportunities for women to play and enjoy the game.”
Full details of the sessions, including how to Register will go live at the end of June.
