The club will receive a £25 fine (which the player should reimburse) and the player will receive at least a one match suspension. If you wish to appeal the decision, the process must be started within a day. For yellow cards there is a £10 charge paid to the club.
  • Weather: Pitch inspections at Highfield will be made on Fridays, this hopefully giving managers notice as to if their game is going to be postponed.

Laurence Wilson

  • St Albans City Youth are carrying out the 'Rainbow Laces Campaign'. It would be appreciated if managers could send in pictures of players wearing 'rainbow laces'. The club will retweet these photos and with every retweet, they will donate £2 to 'Stonewall', a charity promoting the acceptance of the LGBT community in football. We are hoping that this campaign will spread across the local area.
  • Club coach Chris Samways won 'Community Coach of the Year' at the recent Herts Sports Partnership awards. The club would like to send him their congratulations.
  • The club were involved in a productive meeting regarding the Samuel Ryder Academy facilities last week.
  • Laurence has been in discussion with Herts FA regarding coaching courses for the 2019/20 season. They are looking into hosting two Level 1 courses (October, May) and one Level 2 course (April).
  • If managers are interested in hiring out the Samuel Ryder or Nicholas Breakspear facilities for weekend matches, please get in contact with either Tom Johnson or Nicola Bunney (Samuel Ryder) Tom Johnson - 07971 547974, tomjohnson135@hotmail.co.uk or t.johnson@samuelryderacademy.co.uk  or the Nicholas Breakspear lettings lettings@nbs.herts.sch.uk

Geoff Watts (on behalf of Sam Mardle and Sarah Kropman)

  • The City Youth girls section now has 14 teams with 3 additional squads being formed for January through the FA Wildcats Centre at Nicholas Breakspear. The Wildcats Centre has already become the largest in the county.
  • If any U15/U16 club players are doing their Duke of Edinburgh and are looking for experience, please get in touch with Sarah. They are looking for volunteers to assist the girl’s section, either during midweek or on Saturday mornings. Sarah is also looking for referees on Saturday mornings.
  • Sam Mardle was proud to chair his first trustee meeting last week, hosted by Samuel Ryder.  He can ensure that there is hard work being put into solving the issues raised in previous club meetings.
  • Sam Mardle is no longer coaching a grassroots football team. He is looking at getting involved in coaching grassroots sides on weeknights subject to availability. Please get in touch if you would be interested in him coaching your side for a few sessions (any age, gender or ability).

Managers Reports

  • U8 Lions: They have recently finalised a kit sponsor, meaning new kits for the boys. They have also moved up a division and now feel as though they are playing at the correct level for them.
  • U12 Girls: They recently won their County Cup match, meaning that they are now in the Quarter Finals. They have been struggling to report their scores into the league, Ian directed them to go onto the Herts FA website and to fill in the team sheets to ensure that results are being processed. The issue will be investigated by the club.
  • EJA: U14 EJA side are doing well and the intensity of their play has improved over the past three months and they've adapted to EJA life. The U16's had a long overdue win in their recent match and the U18 beat Ilford 5-1 and their recent midweek cup game with many of the player's friends attending, creating a large crowd.
  • U18: There has been a few red cards this season, the players seem to develop a lack of common sense when they reach this age and see red mist far too easy.

Any Other Business

  • Gate at Samuel Ryder Academy: The school are just tidying up the area in between the gate and the car park, the gate will then be open for use.
  • Ian Woods is away from December 15th to January 5th so can any major issues please be addressed beforehand.
  • The next meeting is on 6th January. The club would like to wish everybody a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
