St Albans City Youth FC - Match Reports w/e 16th February 2020

Despite Storm Dennis cancelling most of the youth matches on Saturday on Sunday there will still a few that managed to ignore the storm and get played.

The first result is the STACY Boys 13 Spartans in the Green Division of the Watford Friendly League and they led  6-0 at half time at home to Aldenham FC Excel with Dewayne Mitchell scoring four of the goals in a eleven minute spell whilst the other goals were scored by Christian Harvey and Isam Jamil. In the second period saw the Spartans run in another five goals to record a 11-2 win with Dewayne Mitchell scoring another four goals to take his tally to 8 for the match with man of the match Christian Harvey adding the other goal. These 8 goals for Dewayne Mitchell took his tally for season so far to 50. In the league the Spartans have won nine out of their eleven league matches and sit at the top of the table on 27 points and they are eight points clear of the team in second place.

In the Cyril Squirrel division of the WFL saw the Under 7's North play London Colney Colts Red and during the match saw both sides score a few goals each and scoring the goals for the North were Eden Kosh 2, Jude Mowat, Louis Farrow and James Dyer.

In the Herts Girls Partnership League saw the STACY 11 Girls North play Ware Youth at home and scoring for the North Girls were Roxie Kosh with a fine edge of the box strike into the bottom corner whilst Verity Lobina swept home a low cross in from Ava Cowie. Other goalscorers were Rachel Kincaid and Shea Fagan whilst Jemima Copley was named player of the match.

Playing Berkhamsted Raiders Mete were the STACY 10 Girls Central and the match took place before the full force of Storm Dennis swept in and despite it being played in muddy conditions the Central Girls played some good football with Tilly Flynn scoring a fine hat-trick. Player of the match Aasha Barker added a excellent brace whilst Sacha Davies, Demi Hall and Alexa Johnson all scored one apiece.

The STACY 9 Girls Central in the Purple division of HGPL played Goffs Oak Academy away and being in top form was Nell McKinstry who scored 5 goals with Amber Fells and Molly Baker both scoring one each with the latter scoring a fine goal on her debut. Both Liana Sprunt and Georgia Miller had great games in goal with each of them doing a half each whilst in the midfield saw captain Poppy Miller and Sophia Neil both give brilliant performances.

The STACY 8 Girls Central were playing Chipperfield Corinthians Girls away and scoring goals for the young lady Saints were Esme Dreyer, Jasmine Noorian and Evie Rosenheim whilst both Bella Batchelor and Isabelle Habbouchi were named player of the match.

The STACY 11 North were at home to Wheathampstead Wanderers Sharks and Olic Fan scored two early goals in this cracking match between these two sides and then following a well worked move saw Harry Reynolds finish it off with a sizzling shot. Later on Olic Fan scored a third goal to complete his hat-trick and in doing so was named man of the match.

At home to Wheathampstead Wanderers were the STACY 10 South and hitting a excellent hat-trick for them was Nathaniel Faldo whilst Fin Henry scored 2 and this was followed up by one apiece from Julian Jordan and Finlay Seabrook in this stunning performance from the South.

Away to Bengeo Tigers Bengals were the STACY 10 North and the man of the match for them was Leo Standing who really worked his socks off for the team in those really gusty conditions and so played a big role in the game from the start to the end.

The STACY 9 South played Victoria Playing Fields FC and man of the match Tom Greatorex scored two fine goals as well as doing some great tackling during the game. Other scorers were Zac Johnson 2, Hugo Perez-Landrove 2, Evan Love 2 plus one from Rory Saunders with a sizzling free kick and for the final goal of the match saw William Galilee score direct from corner kick (thank you Dennis).

Daniel Jayawardena scored three goals for the STACY 8 East in their match with Bury Rangers Red and he also picked up the man of the match tab. Other scorers for the East were James Griffiths, Sebastian Drummond and George Sangster whilst sub referee Paul Drummond had a good game as well.
