St Albans City Youth FC - Match Reports w/e 1st December 2019

 HERTS GIRLS PARTNERSHIP

The STACY 18 Girls were away to Bishop's Stortford Girls (BSC) and within the six minutes they had taken the lead when Claudia Scrimgeour with a scorcher of a shot from the edge of the box found the back of the net to put them 1-0 up. After this Stortford went on the warpath and scored 5 goals in the first half plus another 4 in the second to go on and win 9-1. Never mine Girls at least you scored first. The player of the match went to Amy Cowan.

Also playing Bishop's Stortford Girls(BSC) were the STACY 13 Girls South and they recorded a 6-2 home in division 2 of the HGPFL with player of the match Marelie Raath scoring four of the goals with some quite deadly finishing around the box whilst both Deenah Khan and Stella Ekblad-Piscitelli scored one each.

Two teams were in the County Cup and the first was the STACY 12 Girls South and at half time they leading 1-0 at home to Chorleywood Common Cougars Girls but in the second half it was STACY Girls who were in a roaring mood and rattled in another nine goals to go and win 10-1. Scarlett Robb was again in tip top form as she hit five goals with Michelle Lam not to be left out as she scored four. The final goal was scored by Esme Dickson whilst Sophie Lerwill was named as player of the match. 

The other team in a county cup tie were the STACY 12 Girls Wildcats and they were away to Chipperfield Corinthians Girls and the Wildcats certainly lived up to their name as they hit fourteen goals to win 14-0. A long list of goalscorers so here we go, Reese Anscomb 3, Sophie Cohen 3, Grace Adams Avis 2, Daisy Harris, Sophie Bromwich, Emily Dante, Imogen Siery, Elsa McGaughey and last but not least one for the player of the match Ellie Ratcliffe.

At home to Hitchin Belles were the STACY 11 Girls Central and scoring a goal each for Central were Grace Noorian and Roisin Cullen whilst Charlotte Black picked up the player of the match title.

Last week Roisin Cullen scored two goals for the STACY 11 Girls Central in there away match with Berkhamsted Raiders Astrals with Grace Noorian also getting on the score sheet with Matilda Stuart being named player of the match.

The STACY 11 Girls Wildcats were at home to Bury Rangers Girls and Chloe Nuttall scored a hat-trick with one of her goals finding the top corner following a brilliant drag back before she hit the ball into the roof of the net. Emily Gray got two goals whilst Zara Stanley with an excellent left foot shot found the bottom corner. The player of the match went to the hard-working Gabriella Joyce for energy in midfield and she also got the vote from the opposition as well, well done Gabriella. 

The STACY 10 Girls Wildcats played Harvesters Girls at home with Lizzie Baylis scoring a terrific hat-trick whilst player of the match Evie Dullaghan-Stone scored a fine brace including a fantastic run from her own half. Also getting her name on the score sheet was Emily Dormer.

The STACY 9 Girls Romans played Chorleywood Common Snow Leopards at home and during the game saw player of the match Eva Barenthein score three fine goals whilst both Lucy Carter and Lucy Leonard score two apiece.

Also, at home were the STACY 9 Girls Central and they were playing Welwyn Pegasus Girls and leading the goalscorers for the Central Girls was Daisy Oaten with a double hat-trick(6Goals) whilst she was followed by Nell McKinstry with five goals. The other scorers were Captain Grace Smith with 3, player of the match Georgia Miller 2 and one for Poppy Miller. They were well supported by Sophia Neil and Liana Sprunt going forward.

Away to Garston Jaguars Girls were the STACY 8 Girls Romans and scoring goals for the young lady Saints were Grace Fergie 2, Emily Watts 2, Evie Bournot, Olivia Williams, Nadeen Kelifa Young with player of the match going to Chloe Allen.

Another of the STACY Girls playing a Chorleywood Common Girls team this time called Leopards were the STACY 8 Girls Central and were at home with two of their players both scoring four goals each were Esme Dreyer and Jessica Kutcher following a good team display.

 

HERTS BOYS DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE

The 8 West who were without a league game played a friendly at Nicky B against V.P.FC and scoring four goals for the West was Alex Faldo whilst Seth Keaveny scored a hat-trick with Oscar Bentley and Leo Robinson both hitting a brace each whilst Orla Henry and Archie Brown wrapped it up with one each.

Playing Watton Youth Dragons were the 9 Lions and finding the back of the net for them were Finley Maquire 2, Matthew Denning, Joshua Reynolds, Benji Mellors and Joshua Jury with the man of the match being picked up by Finley Maquire.

Another team without a league game were the 10 South and they also played a friendly and theirs was against Wodson Park and there were two players who scored hat-tricks and they were Nathaniel Faldo and Fin Seabrook. Also getting on the score sheet was Julian Jordan with 2 whilst Henry Mayhew got one with William Maiella being named man of the match.

Playing Wheathampstead Wanderers Sharks and Leo Hooper-Walter scored a fine goal with a free kick into the top corner and Harry Murphy popped up with a second goal as well. The star player went to Leo Hooper-Walter for his fine free kick and for his battling performance throughout.

In a Green division match saw the 11 North play Watton Youth Dragons and scoring a goal each were Eddie Johnson, Olic Fan and one for man of the match Hugo Smith.

In a real ding -dong encounter between the 11 Romans and Welwyn Pegasus Azures saw Marc Ramon score the first goal for the Romans whilst Theo Turley netted a second one.

The 12 West played at home to Wheathampstead Wanderers Pumas and lost 2-0 with the left sided midfielder Otto Meech winning the man of the match award.

 

 

WEST HERTS YOUTH LEAGUE 

The 18 West lost 9-1 at home to Bushey & Oxhey Dragons with Gideon Rowland scoring the consolation goal for the young Saints.

Also losing a league match were the 18 Orient and they went down 1-0 away to Harpenden Colts Hawks following a very close match with Samuel Beasley picking up the man of the match award.

Not much news from the 18 East as they lost 7-0 in division four away to Chorleywood Common Vipers.

George Sippetts continue his goal scoring run with yet another brilliant finish for the 16 Boreal but this proved not be enough as they eventually lost 2-1 at home to Sarratt Rebels. The man of the match was awarded to Mr Reliable Jack Carmichael.

The 16 South were away to Hemel Town and they took an early lead when a goal from captain Sam Hicks put them 1-0 up but the home team quickly equalised and then just before half time a goal from Charlie Moore put them 2-1 up at the break. In the second period it looked like the South were going to take all three points but with fifteen minutes to go Hemel scored an equalizer and then with a miss hit cross which curled into the top corner saw them snatch all the points with a 3-2 win. Despite a lot of pressure, the South could not score another goal and the man of the match for them went to James Justice who was highly competitive in the centre of midfield.

In a division 2 league fixture saw the 15 South record a 4-3 home win over Bushey & Oxhey Falcons with Charlie Johnson scoring two fine goals with both Mackenzie Gibson and Milla Mousdale scoring one apiece. The man of the match went to Nidiyan Sivakumar.

Away to Nascot Wood Rangers were the 15 East and after a close first half it was a different story in the second though as the Rangers ran-out 6-2 winners. Scoring the goals for the East were Nick Berman and George Wilson whilst George Garcia-Romero Ferrer was named man of the match.

The 15 West played Harpenden Colts Typhoons away and they came back with all three points with a sound 4-1 victory with Finn Geoghegan scoring a excellent brace. The other goals came from Alex Maiden and John Henry-Yeo with the man of the match going to Lewis Gardner who was very versatile and strong on the ball.

Making it five wins on the bounce were the 14 Victoria as they beat Harpenden Colts Hurricanes in the semi-final of the Senior League Cup with Joe Caffery scoring the only goal of the match. Captain Alex Strazza put in a superb performance to earn man of the match with a faultless performance at centre back.

In the county cup saw the 14 West play Welwyn Pegasus Royals and they won 4-0 with Archie Connolly scoring the first goal when he smashed the ball into the back of net after Freddie Penford had swung the ball over. Ten minutes to go the West made it 2-0 when this time it was Freddie Penford who scored with a effort from the edge of the box following a great flowing move. In the last few minutes of the game Theo Robertson and Dylan Doyle added to the scoreline to make the final score 4-0 with the man of the match going to the whole team who richly deserved it.

The 14 Central were in the quarter-final of the Junior Plate Cup and they finally won 2-1 over Berkhamsted Rangers with a goal apiece from man of the match Torin Silcox and Davide Iacobucci.

In the quarter-final of the Junior League Cup Knock-Out stage saw the 14 Boreal lose 7-1 away to Harpenden Colts Harriers with Hamza Ramdani scoring Boreals only goal of the game with the man of the match going to Ben Farmer.

Away to last year’s division 1 WHYL champions Bedmond Youth Red were the 13 South and after being 1-0 down they fought back to earn a real creditable 1-1 with man of the match Owen Weaver scoring the equalizing goal with a great lob with five minutes to go. The 13 South defended with courage and resilience to earn this valuable point.

The 13 Arrows were at home to Hemel Youth Red and after an amazing second half performance again led by captain and man of the match Alfie Wollington saw them win 4-3 with Alfie scoring two of those. The other goalscorers were Joe Clinton and Fin Murphy.

At home to Colney Heath Magpies saw the 13 Central draw 2-2 with goals from Roarke Silcox and Jack Reeves whilst Ollie Porter being named man of the match.

The 13 West played a division 3 league match at home to Hemel Town Youth Green and with Josh Ladyman in that no-nonsense form saw him score a terrific hat-trick with three great finishes in and around the box. Man, of the match Max Winders also scored a goal and his was a cracking volley whilst scoring his second league goal was Thomas Kirby which saw the 13 West record a 5-2 victory.

Although the 13 Dragons scored three goals through a Michael Napier brace and a single from Joshua Francois in their home match with Harpenden Colts Leopards it was the visitors who came out on top with a 4-3 win after a very tight and close game. The man of the match went to Ayaan Hussain whose tackles kept the Dragons in the match until late when the Leopards sneaked the points.

In the second round of the Challenge Cup saw the 12 Gladiators march on to a 12-0 away win over Abbots Youth Red with 8 different goalscorers and we start with Leon Rainey who scored an exciting hat-trick. The other goals came from Samuel Philpot 2, Ethan Evans, Christopher Datubo, Kaden Rajkumar, Jacob Standing, Archie Leggatt-Martin plus two from man of the match Aimar Villanueva Garcia.

Away to Evergreen Hawks saw the 12 Orient win 2-1 with goals from Oscar Pawley and Brodie Unitt who was also named as man of the match.

 At home to Herons saw the 12 South lose 4-2 to Herons after the score had been 2-2 at half time and scoring for the South were Oli Sheen and Jacob Thomas.

 

WATFORD FRIENDLY LEAGUE

The 18 South played Northwood Whites at home and won 2-1 with the goalscorers being Louis Baker-Madec and Luke Mann who was voted man of the match.

In the second round of the Challenge Cup saw the 13 Orient play away to Finchley Football Academy North and by the final whistle it was the Orient who done the teaching and really learnt how to study and how to score goals by winning 16-0. There were seven different goalscorers and they were Lucas Berry 3, Luca Lepley 3, Frankie Linsell 3, Ed Purple 2, Tomer Cohen 2, Oscar Noble and Bertie Postema. The man of the match went to Vicente Luciani for giving an excellent all-round performance.

In the Green division of the WFL saw the 13 Spartans suffer a 4-1 defeat away to London Colney Colts Blue with Dewayne Mitchell scoring the Spartans only goal. The man of the match went to Lucas Castaldo. 

With several key players out the 12 Victoria played away to West Herts Youth Stags and despite the ten players working really hard for 12 Victoria they eventually lost by the odd goal 1-0. The man of the match for the Saints went to Thomas Hope.
