St Albans City Youth FC - Match Reports w/e 4th October 2020

 

 

WEST HERTS YOUTH LEAGUE 

 

WEST HERTS YOUTH LEAGUE ROUND-UP FOR THE LAST 4 WEEKS.     20-9-20 to 11-10-20.

At home to Harpenden Colts Eagles saw the Under 18's East take a 2-1 lead at half time but in the end the final score was 3-3 with the Eagles hitting two late goals. Scoring for the East were Gowt Selvarjah, Alex Kouda and Sam Turner.           

The East were then away to Chorleywood Common Pythons and at the break saw the young Saints leading 4-2 with two goals from Jarl Quesada-Thorn and one apiece from Sam Turner and Brad Sanders. In the second half saw Gowt Selvarjah score two goals for the East to win 6-2.          

The Under 18 East had a home match against Bovingdon Storm and two goals from Brad Sanders saw them record a 2-0 victory.            

Away to Abbots Youth Yellow saw the Under 18 East draw 3-3 with Gowt Selvarjah scoring two fine goals whilst Jarl Quesada-Thorn netted the third goal with Under 18's East leading 2-1 at half time.

The Under 18's Orient played Chorleywood Common Hurricanes and there were plenty of goals during the match with the Orient picking up all three points with 5-3 victory. Harvey Young scored two goals one of which came from the penalty spot whilst the other three were scored by Harry Turner, Scott Orchard and Millan Sanderson.            

Leading 1-0 at the break saw the Orient go on to win finally 4-0 against Evergreen Youth with the goals coming from Ollie Gilmour, Daniel Breeze, Harvey Young and Millan Sanderson.

A goal from Harvey Young was not enough for the Under 18's Orient as they lost 2-1 to Croxley Green Black and Harvey Young scored again for Orient in their 5-1 defeat against EB Lions AFC.

The 18's South in division 4 of the WHYL beat FC Hemel White 8-3 at home with Charlie Moore scoring a fine hat-trick as the South led 6-1 at half time. Scoring the other goals were Liam Nolte-Nel with a brace and then came singles from James Justice, Aidan Williams, and Jake Leech.            

The South lost 2-1 to Everett Rovers Blue with Aidan Williams scoring the only goal for the young Saints.          

Next match up for the Under 18's South was a 4-4 draw at home to Bushey & Oxhey Wolves with Aidan Williams bagging a brace whilst both Charlie Moore and Samuel Baker-Madec scored one goal apiece.      

The fourth match the South played ended up a 2-0 defeat to Croxley Green Emerald after the first half had remained scoreless.   

The Under 16's South lost 3-1 at home to Harpenden Colts Storm with Mackenzie Gibson scoring the South's only goal of the match and then away to Totternhoe Development the South saw them trailing 1-0 at the break but they conceded four more goals in the second period to eventually go down 5-0.         

At home to Sun Sports Yellow were the Under 16's South and following a very tight game saw the visitors snatch all three points with a very late goal to win the match 1-0.

The Under 16's East drew 1-1 at home to Sarrett Rebels after they were trailing 1-0 at half time and it was Michael Ridgway who scored a well taken equaliser midway through the second half.  

Jack Longbottom scored the only goal for the Under 16's East in their 4-1 defeat at home to Bushey & Oxhey Falcons after the score had been 0-0 at half time.         

Away to Abbots Youth Blue were the East's squad and it proved not to be a good day as they eventually went down 4-0.

The Under 16's West led 2-1 at the half time against Wheathampstead Wanderers Pumas and by the final whistle the West had scored another three goals to win the match 5-3.

Scoring the goals for the West were Callum Trulock-Faulkner with an excellent hat-trick plus singles from Finn Geoghegan and Jameel Mallik-Cole.        

In the West's next match saw them draw 3-3 against Aston Clinton Colts JFC with two goals from Finn Geoghegan and one from Alex Maiden.          

Alfie Gauthier and Alex Maiden scored the goals for the Under 16's West in their 5-2 defeat away at Berkhamsted Raiders White, but it was very close at the break with the hosts leading 2-1.

Moving on to the Under 15's saw the Under 15's Victoria play away to Berkhamsted Raiders Red and at half time they led 2-0 with a goal apiece from George Still and Noah Harvey. In the second period George Still scored another goal to take his tally to two and for Victoria to win finally 3-0.          

Alex Strazza scored the only goal for Victoria in their 3-1 defeat at home to Evergreen Wolves whilst Noah Harvey scored for the Under 15' Victoria as they lost 2-1 away to Sun Sports Blue.

In this period of four weeks saw the Under 15's West play only two matches and in the first saw them draw 2-2 at home to Hemel Aces Lions with goals from Samuel Morris and Fred Penford whilst in their second match saw Charlie Clark score the only goal for them as they lost 5-1 against Sun Sports Blue.

Next up is the Under 15's Orient and they started off with a 3-2 victory away at Evergreen Jackals with goals from Matthew Penfold, Stanley White, and Jensen Dean.

They next played Berkhamsted Raiders Green at home and won 5-3 after they had led 4-1 at half time. Scoring the goals for Orient were Matthew Penfold with two, one of which came from the penalty spot whilst Jack Malin, Martin Flore and Declan Wilkinson all scored one each.      

The Under 15's Orient then played Bushey & Oxhey Sharks at home and after leading 2-0 at the break they stormed away in the second half to go and romp to a 7-1 victory. Leading the goalscorers was Jensen Dean with four and then came Martin Flore with a brace whilst Joshua Palminter scored the final goal.          

Not much joy in their final match of four for the Orient as they lost 1-0 away to Evergreen Jaguars.

At home to Tring Tornadoes Tigers saw the Under 15's Boreal draw 4-4 with two goals from Reaz Modani plus one apiece from Jackson McArthur and Ali Nawar.

Next up for Boreal was an away match at Harpenden Colts Harriers and here saw them record a 4-2 victory with Ridhwann Ahmed scoring a hat-trick whilst Ali Nawar scored one.         

Playing Berkhamsted Raiders Yellow at home saw the Under 15's Boreal in real goalscoring form as they romped to a 7-0 win after they had led 3-0 at half time. Scoring the goals were Ali Nawar 2, Blenor Braimi 2, Stefano De Marchis, Jackson McArthur, and Hamza Ramdani.

Rounding up the Under 15's saw the Under 15's Central lose heavily against Cassiobury Rangers Blues with Davide Iacobucci scoring the consolation goal for the young Saints.   

The Central next played Harvesters East and had better fortunes against them as they finally won 4-2 after a tight game. Scoring the goals for Central were Jonathan Harris, Davide Iacobucci, Oliver Tay and Aaron Lota.          

Away to Watford Sports White saw the Under 15's Central go in at the break losing 3-2 but Central turned in a stunning second half performance to go on and win 5-4. Davide Iacobucci scored two of the goals whilst Aaron Lota, Oliver Taylor and Jonathan Harris all scored one goal each.

Away to Watford Youth Sports were the Under 14's South and they won 5-1 which was the score at half time with goals Owen Weaver 2, Samuel Estell, Ben Browning and James Beasley.          The South next played Chorleywood Common Eagles and won 2-1 with both South’s goals being scored by Sam Estell.  

Leading 2-0 at half time away to Harpenden Colts Pumas with a goal apiece from Benjamin Turnbull and Owen Weaver saw the Under 14's South go on to win 4-2 with both Benjamin Turnbull and Owen Weaver scoring another goal each to secure the victory.

Away to Nascot Wood Rangers saw the Under 14's Arrows lose 5-0 whilst in their next match it was a tight game as the Arrows scored three goals at home to Colney Heath Magpies but alas the visitors scored five to win 5-3. Scoring for the arrows were Finlay Murphy with a fine brace whilst Aruran Renugoban scored the third goal.

Finlay Murphy scored the Under 14's Arrows goal away to Oxhey Jets as they lost 2-1 following a very tight match.

The Under 14's West were away to their fellow club mates the Under 14's Central and it was a very close match with Central taking a 2-1 lead, but the West hit back to go and win 4-3. Scoring for the West were Josh Ladyman with 2 and Matt Gosling and young Tommy Morgan whilst for the Central the goalscorers were Dean Bladon, Sam Johnston and Roarke Silcox.          

The Under 14's West next played Gadeside Rangers at home and after leading 4-0 at the break they hit another five in the second period to go on and win 9-1 with Lucas Berry scoring a hat-trick. Scoring the other goals were Thomas Kirby 2, Josh Ladyman 2, Max Winders and Harry Gaines.          

Away to Croxley Green Emerald saw the Under 14's West win 3-2 with Harry Gaines scoring twice whilst Thomas Kirby scored once.           

The Under 14's West continued their good form with a 5-0 home win over Hemel Hempstead Green with Harry Gaines scoring another two goals whilst Josh Ladyman, Charlie Rose and Max Winders wrapped up the scoring.

Now for the Under 14's Central other matches as they soon got back to winning ways with a 8-0 win at home over Bovingdon Thunder after they had led 2-0 at the half time. Scoring all these goals were Dean Bladon 2, Roarke Silcox 2, Jack Reeves, Tom Denial, Sam Johnston, and Jack Creagh.          

The Central then drew 2-2 against Everett Rovers Black and Kiran Allen And Logan Rathbone scored the goals to earn them the point.               

Playing Herons Youth were the Under 14's Central and it proved to be a close match in the end as the young Saints finally came out on top 4-3 after they had led 3-1 at the break.  Scoring for the Central were Jack Reeves, Josh White, Dean Bladon and Roarke Silcox.

At home to Croxley Green Yellow saw the Under 14's Dragons in a rip-roaring form as they hit their visitors by scoring 14 goals without reply to record a fantastic win. Michael Napier led the way with six goals, yes 6, whilst Daniel Minihan was not far behind with 4 and then came Joshua Francois with a brace whilst both Joshua and Oliver Reed both scored one each.                

The Dragons next match saw them beat St Albans Rangers Hawks 5-0 after they had led 2-0 at the break and scoring the goals for the Dragons were Michael Napier 2, Harry Baines, Joshua Francois, and Daniel Minihan.            

Those feisty Dragons continued to score more goals with a 7-0 victory at home over Harpenden Colts Tigers with Oliver Reed scoring a tremendous hat-trick.  Scoring the other goals were Daniel Minihan 2, Michael Napier, and Harry Pearce with both one each.                 

Away to Harpenden Colts Jaguars were those feisty the Under 14's Dragons and again they were in amongst the goals with a 8-4 victory with Michael Napier scoring a tremendous three goals. Other players getting on the scoresheet were Sean Magee 2, Daniel Minihan 2 plus one own goal. Four wins out of 4 matches. well done.

At home to Hemel Hempstead Yellows saw the Under 13's Orient leading 5-0 at half time and by the final whistle saw them romp away to a 11-0 victory with Morgan Francis leading the way with a glorious hat-trick. There were five other goalscorers and they were Archie Leggat-Martin 2, Vincenzo Di-Girgenti 2, Oscar Pawley 2, Samuel Philpot, and Michael Wadsworth.               

Away to Watford Youth Sports GB saw the Orient win 4-1 with two goals from Michael Wadsworth whilst Alfie Long and Vincenzo Di-Girgenti.

The score in the match between the Under 13's Orient who were at home to Echoes Youth Amber was 0-0 at half time but what happened in the second period as nine goals were rattled in as the match finally finished with a 5-4 win for Orient. Hitting the goals in this end to end game for Orient were Morgan Francis 2, Alfie Long, Adam Lorman and Samuel Philpot.

The Under 13's Centurions played two matches and the first saw them lose 1-0 away to Harpenden Colts Raiders whilst in their second saw them lose 3-1 away to Hemel Hempstead Town White with Jayden Never-Wright scoring the Centurions goal.

A smashing three goals from Ciaran Ryan gave the Under 13's South a 3-1 victory at home to Croxley Green White.        

It was Jake Allen and Jacob Thomas who scored the goals for South in their 5-2 defeat away at Kings Langley Red.            

Playing Little Gaddesden Red at home were the Under 13's South and they won 2-1 following a very close match with goals from Jacob Thomas and Kiran Reynolds.

At home to St Albans Rangers Tigers saw the Under 13's West lose 7-3 with Lewis Cleaton, Stanley Llewellin and Evan Reid scoring the West's goals.           

Playing away to Chorleywood Common Piranhas and the West were certainly nibbled away during this game as they lost 4-1 with Xander McComb scoring the Saints goals.             

Following a very tight game which saw both sides score a few goals each saw the visitors snatch a 5-4 win over the West. Scoring for the west were Nick Evershed with a brace with both Evan Reid and Tim Crowther netted one goal each.

The Under 12 Central lost 6-2 to Berkhamsted Raider Blue and then 4-3 to Belstow Youth and then finally 8-0 to Colney Heath Magpies. No scorers on the League's Website.

Away to Hemel Hempstead Town Orange were the Under 12's Romans and they lost 6-4 finally after an exciting end to end match with score at the break being 3-2 to Hemel. Scoring the young Saints were Theo Turley 2, Lucas Scott and Oscar Dennis-Darling.              

The Romans then had another defeat when they lost 6-2 at home to Everett Rovers Yellow with Hari Boodhun and Ross Hayden scoring the goals for the hosts.            

At home again were the Under 12's Romans and this time they were playing Chesham Utd Clarets and despite goals from Theo Turley with a brace and one from Ross Hayden saw the Romans still go down 8-3 despite leading 2-1 at half time.           

The Romans then lost 3-0 away to Cassiobury Rangers Clarets.

Leading 3-0 at half time at home were the Under 12's Orient against Harpenden Colts Panthers but although the visitors scored two goals in the second period Orient scored another two goals to win the match 5-2. Scoring for the Saints were Rohan Harrison 2, James Karim, Zac Prescott, and Ethan Parsons.          

James Karim and Rohan Harrison scored the goals for the Under 12's Orient in their 6-1 defeat to Nascot Wood Rangers and 7-1 loss to Everett Rovers Blue respectively.

St Albans City Youth FC - Match Reports w/e 4th October 2020

 

  HERTS GIRLS PARTNERSHIP

The STACY Girls 16's North played the only game in their division over the weekend and they continued their good start with yet another win when they beat Herts Girls at home by five goals to two. Scoring these goals were player of the match Esme Hume with two and then Kiera Ward with two and finally Andrea Leonidas with one.

The STACY Girls 15 South lost 4-1 against Potters Bar United with Mia Simmonds scoring the only goal for the South. The player of the match went to new signing this season goalkeeper Ella Thornton who produced some great saves during the match and she was really confident in her positioning plus Ella also distributed the ball well from out of the back.

The STACY Girls North took a 1-0 lead at home to Stevenage Starlets who were undefeated all last season with a finely taken strike from Esme Dickson but two defensive errors, one just before the break and another one near the end let Stevenage into snatch a 2-1 win.

Reese Anscomb scored the only goal for the STACY Girls 13 Wildcats in their 3-1 defeat by Goff’s Oak with midfielder Imogen Siery picking up the player of the match trophy for the Wildcats.

Also losing were the STACY Girls 12 Central and they went down 7-1 to Ruislip Rangers Clarets with Alicia Gibson scoring the only goal for Central.

Well you can't say there were not in any goals in this match as the game finally ended 5-5 between the STACY Girls 12 Wildcats and Hemel Aces with the Wildcats taking the lead four times but they saw the Hemel team instantly hit back and also the Hemel custodian was in brilliant form and so she was voted the Hemel player of the match by the Wildcats. Scoring the goals for the 12 Wildcats were Maya Till 2 Chloe Nuthall 2 and Emily Clarke with one whilst the player of the match for the Wildcats was Konni Hobbs who had a brilliant game against one of the Hemel forwards.

On a very wet pitch saw the STACY Girls 11 Wildcats and their match was against Hitchin Belles and there were also plenty of goals in this match as well with the player of the match for the 11 Wildcats Lizzie Bayliss scoring four goals whilst Georgia Tongue also got on the scoresheet as well and there could have been more goals if those chances did not stop on the line on the wet pitch.

The STACY Girls 10 Romans were playing Meniinas and Lucy Leonard got the match off to a good start with a goal following some blistering pace down the wing and player of the match Izzy Marriot also scored one whilst another fierce effort from struck the foot of the post. Lucy Carter played well, and she also went close with a shot that went narrowly wide of the far upright.

The STACY Girls 10 Central had a good game against Ware Youth Girls and during the first half saw the Central score goals through Daisy Oaten, Poppy Miller and Nell McKinistry. In the second period saw Poppy Miller score two more goals one of which was a penalty and in goal for Central saw Megan Cohen have a brilliant game between the sticks. The Coach's player of the match went to Amber Fells who made some dazzling runs down both wings and in doing so created great opportunities for the team to score their goals during the game.

The STACY Girls 9 Romans took part in a very high scoring game with Meninas Recife which saw both sides score the same number of goals each. Scoring five goals for the Romans was Nadeen Kelifa Young whilst Ellie Roberts got a brace and Olivia Williams scored a single. The player of the match went to the versatile Emily Watts.

St Albans City Youth FC - Match Reports w/e 20th September 2020

 

  HERTS GIRLS PARTNERSHIP

FRIENDLY MATCHES 

We start with the STACY Girls 18's and they were at home to Colebrook Girls and the lady Saints won 4-1 with two goals from Emma Judd, one from Bora Cela and plus one goal from player of the match Laura Gifford whose tough tackling in midfield sees her win the ball and then with her excellent vision starts the attacks has she plays the ball out quickly.

Meanwhile the STACY Girls 16's North had very luck in their match with Harpenden as they eventually lost 3-2 despite hitting the woodwork five times! Kiera Ward hit the post twice whilst Esme Hume rattled the crossbar a couple of times with Andrea Leonidas also hitting the post as well.  Scoring the goals for the North were Kiera Ward, and Esme Hume.

The STACY 15 Girls 15's South lost 4-1 against a strong Potters Bar United team with Maisie Humphreys scoring the only goal for the South with Miranda Wares being named player of the match.

The STACY Girls 13's Wildcats really got their claws out as they beat Hitchin Belles at home 5-0 with Reese Anscomb scoring two of the goals. Also getting on the scoresheet were Ellie Ratcliffe, Poppy Williams-Leung and player of the match Elsa McGaughey who is a very skilful midfielder and she is also strong going forwards.

Playing Berkhamsted Raiders were the Stacy Girls 12's North and despite the North Girls scoring three fine goals they eventually lost 5-3 following a real end to end match.

Scoring the goals were Roxie Kosh, Sophie McMahon, and Rachel Kincaid whilst winger Shea Fagan was named player of the match. 

In their friendly with Watford Girls saw the STACY Girls 11's Central ruthless on the counterattack and they scored three goals and scoring these were Demi Hall, Sacha Davies and Jasmine Mercer with defender Jessica Reeve being named player of the match.

The previous week saw the STACY Girls 11's Central host Harpenden Girls Jaguars and trailing a new system/formation saw the Girls take a bit of time to find their feet but they soon got going and scored a few goals with player of the match Alexa Johnson scoring a hat-trick who caused havoc on both wings whilst Demi Hall scored a neat brace. Making a welcome return was Alice Taylor who is competing well now coming back from her broken foot.

The STACY Girls 10's Romans played London Development Girls with Orla Henry scoring three goals, Annabel Latham two plus singles from Lucy Carter, Rose Sharman, and Izzy Marriott.

Playing Potters Bar Crusaders away were the STACY Girls 10 Central and at half time they led 2-0 with two goals from Daisy Oaten whilst Nell McKinstry added another goal in the second period. There were great saves from Megan Cohen and Evie Larkins who took it in turns playing in goal. Player of the match went to Elizabeth Ramage for her effort and creating opportunities for others and whilst doing this she was very unlucky not to score herself with a fine shot that went very close.

There were goals from Grace Fergie 2, Ellie Roberts, Olivia Williams, and Amelia Foils for the STACY Girls 9 Romans in their friendly game with Chorleywood Leopards whilst Eva Kitson won the player of the match award.

In a mini tournament saw the STACY Girls 9's Central lose firstly 2-0 to Meninas Girls 10's whilst in the second game saw them win 2-1 against Wormley's 10's with goals from Jessica Kutcher and Jasmine Noorian who was also was voted player of tournament for the 9's Central.

 

  WATFORD FRIENDLY LEAGUE

Away to Whetstone Jaguars in round one of the league cup saw the Under 18's South go down 4-1 with William Brown scoring their only goal whilst centre back Seb Pound was named man of the match.

At home to Enfield Rangers also in round one of the league cup were the Under 18's Central and they won 5-1 with Josh Penning scoring a glorious three goals. The other two goals were scored by Matt Roome and a wonderful volley from man of the match Jon Hargreaves. The Central side dominated the midfield and the assists for the goals saw Calum Cornish have two with him being ably assisted with John McVeigh, Robbie Ferguson and Jon Hargreaves also getting on with an assist each.

Away to AFC Southgate in the Blue Division saw the Under 18's East pick up three points with a 1-0 victory but alas no one decided to send any info to Tezza. Not a very happy person is Tezza at the moment.

In the Red Division of the WFL saw the Under 15's South defeat Enfield Town at home by five goals to two with the man of the match Cameron Choudhury scoring four fantastic goals whilst Liam Lavin netted the fifth goal. 

The Under 14's Orient who were at home to a strong Harvesters North team found themselves 2-0 down at half time but in the second period saw Orient fight back to earn a

 2-2 draw with goals from Tijan Gerber and man of the match Luca Lepley who was a real star at both ends of the pitch. 

In the Blue Division saw the Under 14's Spartans lose 5-2 at home to AC Finchley North with the visitors scoring a few goals in the last six minutes to take the points. Man, of the match Isam Jamil scored the first goal for the Spartans whilst Dewayne Mitchell scored their second goal.

The Under 13's Victoria lost their first league of the season with a 6-0 home defeat against London Colney Colts Blue but the young Saints could only field ten fit players due to other players not being available and the hard working Connor Sumner was named man of the match.

In the Red Division saw the Under 12's West play Harvesters North at home and this was a closely fought game with the result finally ending 2-2 with goals from Conor Dwyer and Harvey McKessick with Edward Cullum picking up the man of the match award.

The Under 12's East played against Enfield Town in the White Division and at half time the East had fought hard to keep the score at 0-0 but in the second period saw them have a short lapse in defensive formation which let Enfield through and score a shower of five goals in 25 minutes to win the match 5-0. Thomas Leach for the East did well in the midfield whilst Leo Hooper-Walter had a couple of well-aimed free kicks saved by the Enfield keeper to deny him a well-deserved goal. Seth Coetzee put in a stunning performance in goal and pulled off numerous saves to earn him the man of the match title.

The Under 9's North in the Camelot league of the WFL played APB Barnet Rams at home and following a fantastic attacking display saw goals from Brayden Edwards 2, Oscar Howlett 2, Victor Bross, Issac Stirrat and Edward Bailey. They were well supported by Henry Neville, Baxter Collingridge and Harry Talbot. 

 

WEST HERTS YOUTH LEAGUE 

In the first 15 minutes of the match between the Under 15's Orient and Evergreen Jackals saw Evergreen take a 2-0 lead but Orient hit back with a goal from Stanley White to go in at the break 2-1 down. In the second period a penalty from Jensen Dean pulled them back to 2-2 and then Captain Matthew Penfold hit the winning goal for Orient to win 3-2 after an excellent comeback.

The Under 15's West lost 5-1 at home to Sun Sports with Charlie Clark scoring the consolation goal with a penalty kick after he had won the spot kick himself and Isaac Templeton was named man of the match after giving a solid performance in the midfield.

Away to Harpenden Pumas saw the Under 14's South have a comfortable 4-2 win with two goals from Owen Weaver and two goals from Ben Turnbull as well. There was a joint man of the match and it went to Josh Smith and Braydon Channer for their heroics in goal as the usual keeper was unable to play.

The Under 13's Central played Herons and after a very tight game saw them win 4-3 with goals from Roarke Silcox, Jack Reeves, Dean Bladon plus one from man of the match Josh White.

The Under 12's Romans playing Chesham United Youth scored three goals through Theo Turley 2 and one from Ross Hayden, but this proved not to be enough as they eventually went down 8-3.

St Albans City Youth FC - Match Reports w/e 27th September 2020

 

HERTS GIRLS PARTNERSHIP

Well Girls season finally got going and we start off with the STACY 16 Girls North who were playing Garston Ladies Panthers at home and the lady Saints got off to a winning start with a 3-2 win with the player of the match Esme Hume scoring two goals and she also had a good game in midfield whilst Kiera Ward scoring the third goal.

Also picking up a fine result were the STACY 15 Girls North as they beat Garston Ladies Lions 5-0 with Thisbe Danford in good form by scoring a hat-trick and she also picked up the player of the match award as well. Scoring the other two goals were Abbie Bierman and Sarah Jane Spears with one apiece.

Another team who had a brilliant win were the STACY 15 Girls South as they overcame Harpenden Colts Jaguars by the scoreline 9-1 with the player of the match Maisie Humphreys scoring five yes 5 goals. The other scorers were Mia Simmonds with a neat brace whilst Grace McMurray got one as did Ava Rose which was her first goal for the team.

No such joy for the STACY 14 Girls South as they lost 3-1 away to Ruislip Rangers Clarets with Deenah Khan scoring the South's only goal whilst keeper Ruby Littlechild was named player of the match.

At home to Berkhamsted Raiders Red saw the STACY 13 Girls Wildcats win 3-0 with all three goals coming from the dynamic Reese Anscomb with left midfield Ellie Ratcliffe being awarded the player of the match title following excellent dribbling skills down the wing.

Rosin Cullen scored the only goal for the STACY 12 Girls Central as they lost 7-1 at home to Ruislip Rangers Clarets,

The STACY 12 Girls North playing Evergreen Youth Kites at home took the lead after eight minutes when Rachel Kincaid made a brilliant solo run from the halfway line after which saw her calmly slot the ball past the Kites keeper to make it 1-0. Three more goals followed in quick succession, firstly Roxie Kosh hit home from close range and she was duly assisted by Jacey Dyett who herself scored minutes later when she made a great run down the left and fired a low drive inside the near post to make it 3-0. Scoring the North's fourth goal in their 4-0 win was Verity Lobina with a simple tap in following a stinging shot from Roxie Kosh which was pushed out by the Kites keeper. All four goals came in a 10-minute spell early in the first half.

The STACY 12 Girls Wildcats certainly had a sting in their tail as they ran out 7-2 winners at home to Bury Rangers Girls in what saw a great attacking display up front and also some excellent passing as well throughout the team. Scoring the goals were Chloe Nuttall with four, Maya Till 2 and Imogen Miller with one. There was a joint player of the match and it went to defender Zara Millar whose distribution was excellent out of the back and Maya Till up front who worked hard up front.

At home To Bedwell Rangers Athletico were the STACY 11 Girls Central and the match was played in really good spirits and the Central with excellent defending created some fine chances which saw Jasmine Mercer score two goals whilst both Sacha Davies and Aasha Barker both scored one apiece. Earning the player of the match award was Alice Taylor who was brilliant in both midfield and defence.

Lizzie Baylis and Evie Dullaghan-stone scored the goals for the STACY 11 Girls Wildcats in their away match in the Purple Division against Garston Ladies Pumas.

The STACY 10 Girls Romans were at home to a strong Berkhamsted Raiders Galactic’s team and the Romans put in a good performance against them and Issy Marriott scored the first goal for the Romans after she went past two defenders and hit the ball home from close range whilst Lucy Leonard hit a second goal for the Romans after player of the match Rose Sharman slipped the ball through to her.

Also playing in the Pink Division like the Romans were the STACY 10 Girls Central and they were away to Watford Ladies Hornets with the Central's captain Daisy Oaten scoring four goals. There were other goals from Nell McKinstry 3, Poppy Miller, Grace Smith, and Amber Fells whilst the Central's coach player of the match was awarded to Amelia Crook who set up quite a few of the goals.

Playing away to Berkhamsted Raiders Supersonics were the STACY 9 Girls Wildcats and scoring in her very first game for the team was Isabelle Bird whilst player of the match Edie Launchbury also got on the scoresheet as well with a well taken goal.

At home to Chipperfield Corthinians saw Emily Watts and Gracie Fergie score a goal apiece for the STACY 9 Girls Romans in the Pink Division of the HGPL whilst the hard-working Bonnie Maclean was voted player of the match.

In a high scoring match which saw plenty of goals being scored by both teams saw the STACY 9 Girls Central take on Berkhamsted Raiders Solar away and scoring those goals for Central were Lola MacIntosh 2, Jessica Kutcher, Lottie Dennis and Isabella Skinner. It was such a close call for who was going to be named player of the squad as they all could have won it but it finally went to Lottie Dennis ''pocket rocket of the team'' whilst Evie Rosenheim who also had a brilliant game was just pipped at the post.

Following an excellent performance and some fantastic defending from Martha Mellors and Sophie Neville and great attacking saw the STACY 8 Girls North score a few goals in their match with Meninas Belem Girls with Olivia Carr hitting six fine goals. Also getting on the scoresheet were Jessica Barrett, Jessica Edwards, and Kiki Kosh with one apiece whilst the player of the match went to Martha Mellors for all the hard work she put in during the whole of the game.

In the Purple Division of HGPL saw the STACY 8 Girls Orient play at home Harpenden Colts Girls Wildcats in a high scoring game and scoring five goals during the match for Orient  was Josie Henriksen who is the teams answer to Michael Laudrup and Jessica also picked up the player of the match as well. Also scoring a goal for Orient was Grace Taylor with a great run and finish.

 

HERTFORDSHIRE BOYS DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE.  FRIENDLIES AND LEAGUE MATCHES ROUND-UP.

The Under 10's  Lions played Welwyn Pegasus Skys and there were early goals from Daniel Davenport and Joshua Jury and then Tristian Francis and Benji Mellors added a goal apiece whilst Daniel Davenport scored another to take his personal tally to two for the game. The player of the match went to goalkeeper Oscar Taylor who made a string of outstanding saves throughout the match.

In a match to see who could do the most roaring saw the Under 10 Lions take on Bengeo Tigers Bengals and both sides scored quite a few goals with man of the match Tristan Francis scoring a superb hat-trick whilst Benji Mellors, who not to be out done, hit two excellent goals as well.

Playing Bury Rangers Black were the Under 11's Orient and there were goals from Austin Shepherd, Harry Taylor, and Billy Stone whilst there were brilliant displays from Harry Dennis and Louis Smith.

Away to Bengeo Tigers Caspian’s were the Under 9's South and scoring some goals for the young Saints were Adam Davies 2, Charlie Cox2, Vihan Abeyrathna and Harry Hirst.

In another league match saw the Under 9's South play Bury Rangers Blacks and scoring two goals apiece for the South were Harry Hirst and Charlie Cox whilst William Downes and Henrik Hannam both one goal each. Making excellent debuts were the new players Charlie Cox, Henrik Hannam and Cyrus Merrison and all three gave fine performances.

The Under 9 South were away to Bedwell Rangers Corinthians and they turned in a superb performance to draw 4-4 with goals from Adam Davis, Nathan Wickes, Harry Hirst, and Charlie Cox.

The Under 8's East played the Under 8's South and scoring goals in this match for the East were Louis Burt 3, man of the match Joshua Smith 2, Harry Brewer and Bertie Henson.           

Playing Welwyn Pegasus on a sunny but chilly morning were the Under 8's East and there were goals from Daniel Kennedy 5, Harry Brewer3, Joshua Smith 2, Thomas H, Louis Burt and Kian Guigonnet with the man of the match going to Harry Brewer for a fantastic all-round performance.

Fraser Wilkinson scored his first goal of the season for the Under 9's Romans and he had a great assist by Andreas Veasey and the Romans were playing the Under 9' East.

In an end to end game with lots of chances for both sides saw the Under 10's South played Wheathampstead Tiger Sharks and Evan Love scored two goals for the South with his first being a fine strike into the top corner. Toby Sumner with a penalty and Toby Thompson rounded up the scoring for the Under 10's South.

The Under 10's South played a friendly a week before against Herts Vipers and once again Evan Love was amongst the goals this time with a hat-trick whilst both Toby Russ and Toby Thompson scored a brace apiece and Elijah Bailey also popped up with a goal as well. Hugo Perez-Landgrove at the back was on the ball in thwarting the Sharks attacks as they pressed forward and Toby Sumner with some fine passing set up goals for the rest of the players.

The Under 10's South were away to the Under 10's North and Elijah set up Evan Love who scored with an excellent top corner finish. Both keepers Zac Johnson and Jacob Newman were superb as they took turns in between the sticks. Players of the match were Alex Gow who played some excellent passes and Evan Love who worked hard down the left along with Toby Thompson and Toby Russ who also created some great chances.

The Under 9 West had a fine result away to Bengeo Tigers Sabres with Seth Keaveny scoring four goals whilst Aiden Harriman got a hat-trick and Oscar Bentley and Leo Robinson both scored one each.    The Under 9's West then played a home match the following week against Wheathampstead and scored the goals for the West were Alex Faldo and Leo Robinson.

The Under 11's Orient turned in a great performance against FC Hitchin Comets with Billy Stone scoring a goal for the Orient. There were superb performances from Alex Hooper and Zak Stamp.

Scoring goals for the Under 9's Romans were George Cullum 2 and Dylan Jones in their home match against Welwyn Pegasus Skys.

St Albans City Youth FC - Match Reports w/e 13th September 2020

 

 

FRIENDLIES:    The 13 Victoria played 2 friendly matches and the first saw them beat London Colney Colts 6-2 with man of the match Aidan Keigher scoring a hat-trick whilst Aryan Baghmati, Arron Holsborough plus Thomas Hope all scored one apiece.

In their next game saw 13 Victoria defeat their fellow club mates 13 South 4-2 at home and once again Aidan Keigher found the back of the three times whilst the fourth goal was scored by Luca Ward with Connor Sumner being awarded the man of the match title.

The 14 Central also had two friendly matches and both of them were against fellow club mates and in the first game saw them beat 14 Arrows 6-1 with Roarke Silcox scoring three goals whilst Jack Reeves netted a brace and Dean Bladon on whilst Adam Oldfield was named man of the match.

In the next game saw them play 14 Dragons and the score was 7-3 to 14 Central with goals from Dean Bladon 2, Jasper Button 2, Roake Silcox, Jack Reeves and Ollie Porter with Jasper Button being named man of the match.

 HERTS GIRLS PARTNERSHIP

The 8 Girls North played their first ever game against the 8 Girls Orient and for the North there were goals from Jessica Barrett 3, Oliver Carr and Anna Dibbs whilst scoring one for the Orient was Grace and she was ably assisted by Maddie and a box-to-box performance from birthday girl Josie which rounded off a great team effort from the Orient girls. The North Girls also gave a brilliant performance with some excellent passing throughout the whole of the match.

The 16 Girls North had two friendlies in a few days and firstly they beat Bury Ranger 5-2 with two goals from Kiera Ward plus singles from Dina Said, Grace Patrick and Andrea Leonidas whilst Caitlin Morley was named player of the match. In their next match saw them beat Potters Bar Crusaders also by the same scoreline 5-2 with player of the match Kiera Ward scoring four goals this time whilst Ruby Tickner scored the fifth goal.

The 12 Wildcats playing Garston Girls lost 6-3 with joint player of the match Chloe Nuttall scoring all three of the goals whilst the player of the match went to Lara Graham.

The 13 Wildcats beat Harvesters Girls 3-2 with Reese Anscomb scoring two of the goals and in doing so she also picked up the player of the match award as well whilst the third goal was tucked away by Ellie Ratcliffe.

Away to Herts Vipers were the 18 Girls and they came away with a comfortable 5-1 victory with Maz Horne-Batet scoring two goals whilst Jess Simpson, Ellie Flynn and Mia Pinkham all scored one apiece with the strong defender Katie Weaver being named as player of the match.

The 15 Girls South won 5-0 against the 15 Girls North after leading 3-0 at half time and scoring the goals for the South were Mia Simmonds 2, Maisie Humphreys, Grace McMurray and one for player of the match Ava Rose. Making very impressive debuts were goalkeeper Ella Thornton and midfielder Caitlin Holton. The team also welcomed back Emilia Fishwick after a year out with an injury.

In their second friendly saw the 15 Girls South play away to Garston Ladies Lions and at half time the score was 2-2 but during the second period saw Mia Simmonds strike the winner for the South to win 3-2. Scoring the other goals were Jocelyn Rennie and Maisie Humphreys. 

Scoring the only goal of the match was Izzy Marriott in the game between 10 Girls Romans and Berkhamsted Raiders.

The 10 Girls Central played London GDA and at half time the scoreline at the break was 4-1 to the young lady Saints. There were more goals in the second half and scoring all the goals were Daisy Oaten 2, Poppy Miller 2, Amber Fells, Nell McKinstry, and captain Grace Smith celebrated her birthday with a fine goal.

Away to Hemel Hempstead Girls were the 12 Girls North and they won 2-1 with goals from Shea Fagan and Rachel Kincaid. 

Another young Girls that played London GDA were the 9 Girls Central and there were no shortage of goals in this match as Tegan Broadhurst, Jasmine Nooran, Evie Rosenheim, Jessica Kutcher, Isabella Harborough, Lottie Dennis, Bella Skinner and Lola MacIntosh all got on the score sheet with Evie Rosenheim being named as player of the match.

 

 WATFORD FRIENDLY LEAGUE

Away to Alexandra Park East were the 18 Central and with 10 minutes to go saw them leading 2-1 with two goals from man of the match Robbie Ferguson but late on a couple of defensive lapses which cost them the game saw the hosts score two goals to take the match 3-2. 

In the Red Division of the WFL saw the 18 South take on Harvesters South and following a very close match the young Saints emerged victorious by three goals to two and scoring these goals were Louis Baker-Madec, Theo Millar and Adam Robinson who all scored one apiece.

Meanwhile the 18 East lost 4-2 at home to HMH Foxes in the Blue Division with Daniel Gant and Will Pearson netting the goals for East.

The 14 Orient won 2-1 at home to Maccabi London White in the Red Division of the WFL with man of the match Jonah Howego scoring both goals with the second one being a real sizzler.

Back amongst the goals was Dewayne Mitchell with yet another superb hat-trick but it was not enough for the 14 Spartans to suffer a 4-3 defeat away to AEK Youth Black with midfielder Eduardo Costa being awarded the man of the match trophy.

In the Junior League Cup saw the 13 Victoria beat West Herts Stags 6-2 at home with that man Aidan Keigher scoring yet another hat-trick for the third match in a row. Scoring the other goals were Luca Ward, Aaron Holsborough plus one from man of the match Aryan Baghmati who is showing lots of pace up front and his goal was a cracker.

A great start in the League Cup for the 12 East as they beat Whetstone Lions 4-0 and they finally got off the mark on 8 minutes courtesy of a determined Oliver Cox and then Harry Murphy relentlessly attacked the opponents goal and was rewarded with goals in the 14th and 29th minute. Whetstone fought back in the second half, but all their shots were well saved by keeper Seth Coetzee. The 12 East sealed the match when Leo Hooper-Walter netted the fourth goal on 51 minutes whilst the man of the match went to Harry Murphy.

The 12 West played Whetstone Wanderers Pumas at home in the Red Division and following a close game saw the West win 5-3 with Jack Burke, Freddie Nelson-Thorpe, Lennon McKessick, Harvey McKessick, and Kyle Lloyd all scoring a goal each. The man of the match went to defensive dynamo Conor Dwyer.

The 12 West also played a midweek game and this time they played Oaklands Wolves and at half time saw them trailing 4-0 but wait a minute what's this the 12 West really came good in the second period and rattled in five goals to stage a great comeback to go on and win 5-4. Scoring the goals were Conor Dwyer with one whilst both Lennon McKessick and Kyle Lloyd who was also man of the match scored two goals each.

The 12 South had a good win away Northwood Red by winning by eleven goals to nil in the Blue Division with M. Williams scoring four goals. The other goal-scorers were Charlie Wilerson 2, Jake Roberts 2, Tommy Gow, Alfie Reed and James Spicer-Thornton.

The Under 9 North started their WFL top campaign away to Maccabi London White and following an excellent team performance and counter attacking football on a difficult surface saw goals from Edward Bailey 3, Harry Talbot and Braydon Edwards. Making their debuts for the North were Harry Talbot, Braydon Edwards, and Victor Bross.
