St Albans City Youth FC - Match Reports Post Lockdown 2 -  December 2020

At home Garston Girls Leopards were the STACY Girls 8 North and celebrating Christmas in style was Jessica Barrett who scored five goals whilst Olivia Carr scored a fine brace with Anna Dibbs popping up with a single.

The STACY Girls 8 Orient were also at home and they played Harpenden Colts Wildcats with a glut of goals from player of the match Phoebe Allen in that she struck five well taken shots which found the back of the net. Madeline Latham also scored one and then she danced around the wildcat’s defenders before squaring the ball to Grace Taylor who scored with a simple tap in. Josefine Henriksen also scored a goal whilst there was some tireless running from captain Sophie Ashcroft during the whole of the game.

Playing a tough game in the mud at Chipperfield Corinthians saw the STACY Girls 9 Wildcats score three goals with Cecilia Turton Rys scoring two whilst Frankie Burgess scored one.

The STACY Girls 9 Central scored four goals against Chorleywood Common Leopards in a high scoring match and scoring two of them was player of the match Lola Mackintosh with two fine finishes with both Isabella Habbouchi and Jess Kutcher netting one apiece.

The STACY Girls 10 Central were away at Ruislip Rangers and scoring a great goal for Central was player of the match Daisy Oaten whilst Nell McKinstry threw herself at everything. Captain for the day Amelia Cook who was playing her last game for the Club and she had an excellent game playing out on both wings.

At home to Watford Ladies Hornets were the STACY Girls 10 Romans and they were well led by their captain Isabella Marriott who scored one goal whilst the player of the match Lucy Leonard struck a superb hat-trick.

The Under 8's East defied the weather and played a match against Wheathampstead Wanderers Sharks and they scored two goals and scoring them were Lois Bart and Joshua Smith with Harry Brewer steely showing plenty of determination to win the man of the match award.

The next Under 8's East's match saw them play Watton Youth on a boggy pitch and following a great all-round team performance with two goals from Harry Brewer and two from Louis Burt. The man of the match went to Thomas H who gave a solid display, particularly in defence.

Away to Ware Royals were the Under 9's South and during the game saw them play well with some excellent passing and finish with Charlie Cox scoring five goals. The other scorers for the South were Finlay Cullen 2, Nathan Wickes 2, Williams Downes 2, Jonah Herron, and Harry Hirst.

Next up were the Under 11's South and they played in two 2-2 draws and the first one was against Bedwell Rangers on a muddy Stevenage pitch with goals from Ollie Saunders and Daniel Novotny in this solid team performance.  In the next match saw them play Wodston and this time it was Ross Wilson and Ashton Balding who scored the goals whilst both Finlay Seabrook and Ollie Saunders gave strong displays in midfield.

The Under 11's Orient had three matches for me to report on and firstly we start with their match against Bury Rangers Black and scoring four goals for them was the deadly marksman Louis Chen. Also getting amongst the goals were Billy Stone, Thomas Winterbottom, and Harry Taylor.  Their next game saw them play Welwyn Pegasus Cyans and once again Louis Chen was amongst the goals this time with a brace whilst both Zak Stamp and Austin Shepherd scored one apiece. In their third and final match they played Wodson Park and scoring one goal each for the young Saints were Nathaniel Parsons, Harry Taylor, Tom Winterbottom whilst yes that man again Louis Chen popped up with another two goals. Well done Louis.
